Santuario di Bonora
It is the best-known and most visited Marian shrine in the Diocese of Rimini: the Santuario Madonna di Bonora stands just outside Montefiore Conca, a short distance from the town centre. The focus of devotion is the image of the "Madonna del latte", once kept in a small chapel and held to be miraculous; it was around this chapel, in fact, that the whole sanctuary was built. Today the image of the Madonna stands behind the high altar.
Good to know
- Devotion to this image is attested by the large number of ex-votos found in the sacristy of the building.
- The Santuario Madonna di Bonora can also be reached on foot from the historic centre of Montefiore Conca, along a beautiful scenic road, in a walk of around twenty minutes.
