Romagna.net should be usable by anyone, with any tool: keyboard, screen reader, magnification, phone. This page says where we actually stand, without rounding up.
Conformance status
The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance is partial: the checks made so far cover the code and the colours, and they do not replace testing with people who rely on assistive technology. Known limits are listed below.
What has been checked
- Every page has a single main heading, landmarks in the right places and a "Skip to content" link as its first item.
- Everything works with the keyboard alone: menus, submenus, language choice, expanding lists, this window. The focus indicator is always visible, and turns white on the dark bands so that it stays legible.
- Colour contrast is checked upstream, on the project colours, by a tool that reports every pair below 4.5:1.
- Colour is never the only signal: inside text, links stay underlined.
- Decorative images carry an empty description, images that carry information have a written one.
- Zoom is never blocked and touch controls are at least 44 pixels tall.
- No carousels that move on their own and no windows that open on arrival; animation is reduced when the system asks for less motion.
- Menus, accordions, language choice and lists also work without JavaScript.
- Maps are a written address plus a link to OpenStreetMap, not an interactive map to explore with a mouse.
Known limits
- Testing with a real screen reader and with disabled people has not been done yet: that is the next step.
- Some uppercase labels are set at 12 pixels, below the 14 pixel floor we set ourselves.
- Text and images come from the previous site: some image descriptions are terse and some pages are short.
- We do not use third-party accessibility widgets, the toolbars that promise to make a site accessible with one script: they do not solve the real problems and often add new ones. We would rather fix the code.
Reporting a problem
If a page will not let you do what you came for, write to info@romagna.net. Tell us the address of the page, what you were doing and which tool you use: a few lines are enough to show us where to look.
How this statement was prepared
Self-assessment by the people who build the site, last updated on 1 September 2026. This is not the statement that the Italian AgID guidelines require of public bodies, which Romagna.net is not: it is a commitment we make anyway.
