Held in the streets of Borgo San Giuliano, right by the historic Ponte di Tiberio and the Piazza sull’acqua, this is the Festa de’Borg of Rimini, which draws thousands of visitors and involves the people of Rimini, especially the residents of the Borgo who organise all the events and celebrations. The first edition of the festival dates back to 1979, when the residents of the Borgo wanted to show the “city” that had decided to demolish parts of Borgo San Giuliano to build a new district. Their pride in the Borgo came through, and thanks to the festival the quarter was not only saved but became one of the most beautiful in Rimini.

Good to know

  • Tradition has it that a new mural is painted on the front of a house in the Borgo for every edition of the Festa de’Borg.
  • Celebrations usually include street food, music, small parties in the Borgo's characterful houses and a firework display closing the two-day event.
