Cycling routes in Rimini

Route 1 Cycling route from Rimini to Santarcangelo, Cesenatico and Bellaria and back (61 km).

This route is very easy and starts by leaving Rimini at the junction with the SS 16. From Via Covignano, go past the traffic lights and turn right towards Via S. Cristina. After 8 km, turn right towards Sant'Ermete and Santarcangelo, where you join the SS 16 and cross it heading towards Bellaria as far as S. Vito. Continue towards S. Mauro, Gatteo and S. Angelo, then on to Sala, Cella and Cesenatico, where the return leg begins, heading back towards Rimini along the seafront via Bellaria, Torre Pedrera, Viserba and, finally, Rimini.

Route 2 Cycling route from Rimini to Montegiardino, San Leo, Villagrande and Mercatino Conca and back (105 km).

This route, which takes you into the hinterland, is considered difficult. Follow the SS 16 as far as the Center Gross junction, turn into Via Varisco and head towards Coriano. At the traffic lights, turn right towards San Salvatore and Ospedaletto. Continue for 1 km, then turn right towards San Marino and continue for a further 15 km. Turn left and climb for 5 km to Montegiardino. At the top, turn right and continue for 1 km towards San Marino and Fiorentino, then left towards Chiesanuova and San Leo. Along the way you pass Castello Fiorentino and Castello di Montemaggio. After a 6 km descent and once over the bridge, turn left towards San Leo. Continue towards Pugliano and Villagrande. After a 15 km climb, a descent follows towards Montecerignone. Continue on towards Mercatino Conca in the direction of Osteria Nuova and turn left towards Coriano. From here, head back to Riccione and Rimini the same way you came, in the opposite direction.

Route 3 Cycling route from Rimini to Fiorenzuola di Focara, Fano and back (107 km).

This is an easy route that lets you enjoy beautiful views of the coast. Start from the Rimini seafront heading towards Riccione, Misano, Portoverde and Cattolica. Continue towards Gabicce Mare and climb up to Gabicce Monte. Continue for 20 km as far as Pesaro and, along the panoramic road, pass through Casteldimezzo, Fiorenzuola and S. Maria Alta. Continue for a further 10 km towards Fano along the SS 16. For the return, follow the same road via Pesaro where, at the harbour, turn right straightaway and, at the traffic lights, turn left to join the Strada Panoramica. This begins the return journey.

Route 4 Cycling route from Riccione to Tavoleto, Urbino, Montecchio and back (100 km).

This is a moderately difficult route, reaching maximum heights above sea level of 400 m at Tavoleto and Urbino, in the Marche region. Start from Riccione, following the SS 16 as far as the junction with Via Puglia, where you follow the signs for Morciano and Urbino. On reaching Morciano, continue towards Montefiore, Tavoleto and Urbino. From here, for the return, continue as far as Montecchio, turn towards Tavullia and continue for 8 km towards S. Giovanni, then on to Cattolica and Misano Adriatico. After 10 km you arrive back in Riccione.
