Casa delle Farfalle

A 500 sq m greenhouse set within the centuries-old Pineta di Cervia, the Casa delle Farfalle is a nature and education park home to hundreds of tropical butterflies from every corner of the world: Africa, Asia, the Americas and Australia. Here they live and can be admired in a setting designed to recreate the climate and habitat of tropical forests.

Good to know

  • In 2006, the Casa degli Insetti was built alongside the Casa delle Farfalle, home to bees, beetles, crickets, mantises and other invertebrate species.
  • The Casa also has a greenhouse, “Il Bruco”, home to Italian butterflies.
  • Outside there is a nature and botanical trail and a large garden with a gazebo for outdoor breaks.
  • Much loved by children, the education area has a permanent exhibition and a botanical trail.
  • Inside the Casa delle Farfalle is a themed souvenir shop.

Conformance status

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance is partial: the checks made so far cover the code and the colours, and they do not replace testing with people who rely on assistive technology. Known limits are listed below.

How this statement was prepared

Self-assessment by the people who build the site, last updated on 1 September 2026. This is not the statement that the Italian AgID guidelines require of public bodies, which Romagna.net is not: it is a commitment we make anyway.
