Fontanone

The Fontanone in Faenza stands at the end of the Stradone, one of the town’s most important streets. It was designed in 1816 to close the vista of the avenue, but for a long time it was the destination of choice for the aristocracy and middle classes, who came here on Sunday outings, holidays and summer afternoons. Going to the Fontanone was a way of showing off one’s wealth to all, and of crossing Piazza Maggiore (passing from Porta Imolese to Porta Montanara). Today it is no longer possible to pass through the gate, and the rear of the building overlooks a large park; of its old functions, the two fountains remain, once a place of refreshment for the wealthy citizens of Forlì during the Belle Époque.

Accessibility statement

Romagna.net should be usable by anyone, with any tool: keyboard, screen reader, magnification, phone. This page says where we actually stand, without rounding up.

Conformance status

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance is partial: the checks made so far cover the code and the colours, and they do not replace testing with people who rely on assistive technology. Known limits are listed below.

How this statement was prepared

Self-assessment by the people who build the site, last updated on 1 September 2026. This is not the statement that the Italian AgID guidelines require of public bodies, which Romagna.net is not: it is a commitment we make anyway.
