Piazza Ricci

Piazza Ricci is a distinctive sloping square built between 1940 and 1943 after the demolition of a small cluster of houses at the centre of Premilcuore. Landscaped from the 1950s onwards, it quickly became a meeting place for the villagers; a cypress tree was planted, along with a cage for small animals, a fountain and two basins at the lower end. In the 1980s the fountain and the cypress disappeared, but the square remained a meeting point, especially for the children of Premilcuore.

Good to know

  • Edvige, Benito Mussolini's sister, had a house overlooking Piazza Ricci. At the time it was thought that the square had been built as a favour from the Duce to his sister, to enhance the value of her home.

Accessibility statement

Romagna.net should be usable by anyone, with any tool: keyboard, screen reader, magnification, phone. This page says where we actually stand, without rounding up.

Conformance status

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance is partial: the checks made so far cover the code and the colours, and they do not replace testing with people who rely on assistive technology. Known limits are listed below.
