Chiesa di San Lorenzo

Built around 1300, the Chiesa di San Lorenzo is the most important parish church in Gatteo. The church began life within the walls of the Castello Malatestiano, moving to the Chiesa della Madonna del Popolo only in 1819. Over time it was enlarged and embellished: the side chapels were built at the end of the 19th century, and in the early 20th century the nave was extended and the apse rebuilt. Of particular note is the cycle of paintings by Don Stefano Montanari, born in Gatteo in the mid-1700s.

Accessibility statement

Romagna.net should be usable by anyone, with any tool: keyboard, screen reader, magnification, phone. This page says where we actually stand, without rounding up.

Conformance status

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance is partial: the checks made so far cover the code and the colours, and they do not replace testing with people who rely on assistive technology. Known limits are listed below.

How this statement was prepared

Self-assessment by the people who build the site, last updated on 1 September 2026. This is not the statement that the Italian AgID guidelines require of public bodies, which Romagna.net is not: it is a commitment we make anyway.
