Rocca Sforzesca
The Rocca Sforzesca is the symbol of Riolo Terme. Built around the 14th century, it has a square layout, imposing round towers, defensive walls typical of 16th-century fortifications and a moat that was restored around the 1980s. The building is well preserved and is used for cultural events and exhibitions open to the town; it also houses a number of permanent collections that trace the history of the building and the town.
Good to know
- Until 1985 it was the seat of the Town Hall.
- The well room houses a multimedia trail (I misteri di Caterina) dedicated to the life of Caterina Sforza.
- On the walls of the Rocca there is a wine bar (Torrino Wine Bar) serving wine and boards of local produce.
