Fiera di San Martino

Every year the centre of Santarcangelo fills with voices, stalls, scents and flavours, keeping alive the spirit of trade that belongs to the history of this event. The Fiera di San Martino is also known as the Fiera dei Becchi (or dei cornuti). Useful information: Iat Santarcangelo,...

The Fiera di San Martino, on 11 November, was historically the moment when, in Santarcangelo, the harvest was celebrated, farmers signed land management contracts, livestock was bought and sold, and food supplies were laid in for the winter. Although this is no longer the case, the festive, convivial atmosphere of those days has been preserved. Every year, in fact, the centre of Santarcangelo fills with voices, stalls, scents and flavours, keeping alive the spirit of trade that belongs to the history of this event.

Good to know

  • It is the feast of the patron saint of Santarcangelo.
  • The Fiera di San Martino is better known as the Fiera dei Becchi (or dei cornuti). The name comes from the custom of hanging a pair of horns on the Arco di Papa Clemente and walking under the arch hoping they stay still: if they move, it means you have been betrayed.

How this statement was prepared

Self-assessment by the people who build the site, last updated on 1 September 2026. This is not the statement that the Italian AgID guidelines require of public bodies, which Romagna.net is not: it is a commitment we make anyway.
