Museo Civico di Scienze Naturali
The Museo Civico di Scienze Naturali in Faenza is the most complete natural science museum in Romagna. It is housed at the Centro “Domenico Malmerendi”, inside a botanical garden. The natural history collections on display range from minerals to fossils, taking in speleological finds and a large entomological and ornithological collection, although the Malmerendi’s centrepiece is the skull of a Mammuthus meridionalis (elephant), found in the Oriolo di Faenza area together with the remains of a hippopotamus, a bison and a rhinoceros.
