Sarsina
Wedged among the mountains of the Tuscan-Romagnol Apennines, Sarsina is much loved by walkers, thanks to its mule tracks and the many CAI paths across its territory.
Famous as the birthplace of Titus Maccius Plautus, the town remembers him in many ways, including his birthplace, open to the public, and the Plautus Festival, a summer event of plays, lectures and talks centred on the playwright.
Above all, though, Sarsina is a destination for religious visitors, because of the legend of the collar of Saint Vicinius, used to bless the faithful and to fight demonic possession and illness.
