Verucchio
Verucchio lies in the Valmarecchia and is one of the Borghi più belli d’Italia. Its origins are very ancient: some finds point to a Villanovan civilisation, earlier than the Etruscans, and to confirm it the civic archaeological museum holds many objects, above all ones tied to funeral rites.
The village is very well kept and much loved by visitors, above all in summer, when people move inland from Rimini and the other seaside resorts in search of cool air and calm. In summer the squares of Verucchio host the Verucchio Music Festival, a well regarded and long-standing music event.
