Rocca Manfrediana

Dating from the 1300s, this is an imposing building that retains many features of the medieval fortress, including the circular keep. It also belonged, for a time, to Cesare Borgia.

The Rocca, built around 1300 by the Manfredi lords of Faenza, has lived through many historical upheavals and was even owned, for a time, by Cesare Borgia. The building is imposing and retains many features of the medieval fortress: the circular keep, the holes through which the chains for raising the drawbridge once passed, the arrow slits and the walkways along the perimeter walls. It houses the Museo l'Uomo e il Gesso, devoted to the relationship between people and the mineral resource typical of this area, while the Torre Veneziana holds a number of finds relating to the Rocca and its medieval and Renaissance history.

How this statement was prepared

Self-assessment by the people who build the site, last updated on 1 September 2026. This is not the statement that the Italian AgID guidelines require of public bodies, which Romagna.net is not: it is a commitment we make anyway.
